Wrapped vows

Happiness is in the quiet, ordinary things. A table, a chair, a book with a paper-knife stuck between the pages (...) Virginia Woolf, the Waves.

The ribbon is at once a sign, a smile, an interweaving of stories, the possibility of a collection. All around us it connects, knots, gathers, tinkers, decorates and raises awareness. It can be worn around the neck, on the foot or on the hip. It marks the page of a book so you don't forget it, hugs the wrist for good luck, can be shared, transformed and reused, hangs on the suitcase for projected journeys, attaches to keys to open new doors. It symbolises the bond between people, sometimes difficult to maintain in 2020. For our New Year, we celebrate this quote from Virginia Woolf on a ribbon, in praise of familiar objects and simple gestures.
