Toys and gender
Hands-on workshops to deconstruct our gendered visual education.
More than ever, the shapes, logos, typography and colours of toys have codes that belong to an identifiable gender. The result is standardisation and a visual impoverishment that stigmatises gendered activities from an early age. With this in mind, Camille Baudelaire has set about designing multidisciplinary mediation workshops (visual communication, object design, set design, colour and materials) to initiate a collective study of the role of everyday images in the construction of gender identities.
