Féminisme en formes

A collective born from the urge to shout — and draw — feminist forms.

It all began just days before the March 8, 2020 demonstration: three friends gathered around a table, scribbling sarcastic slogans onto a paper tablecloth. On the eve of a three-month lockdown, and just after the César Awards scandal honoring Polanski, the streets overflowed with women — and our multicolored placards were raised high among them. From that moment came an Instagram account with multiple aims: giving visual form to slogans using geometric language, inspired in part by the militant aesthetics of Act Up in the 1990s, where art and activism were powerfully intertwined. The account has since become a platform for documenting feminist protests and workshops we lead in various institutions, where we explore new visual languages and materials in the service of feminist activism. Placards, collages, textiles, sculptures… Each protest expands our palette of forms and mediums.
