Rennes City
A typographic identity for a city of solidarity, a metropolis in transition, the capital of a proud, open and generous Brittany.
To unite the City of Rennes, the Urban Community and the Centre Communal d'Action Sociale around a new visual identity, Rennes Métropole launched a call for tenders, which we won thanks to a sober but ambitious and innovative graphic system. Structured around a monogram and a custom typography, elements common to all the entities, our project was rooted in the city's history and strong symbols such as the Breton flag and the uncial script. The monogram evokes the confluence of rivers, the appeal and influence of 'France's No. 1 city to live in'. The 'Condate' typeface, at the heart of a modular identity system, gives Rennes a unique voice in the landscape of major French cities.
