Shoah Memorial, exhibition
The signage is in the form of posters, echoing the propaganda material on display.
As a counterpoint to this very direct visual style, the colour code of the signage blends into the subdued atmosphere of the sets, in keeping with the scenographic project. Drawing on a wide range of documents, works and objects, the exhibition traces the history of the gallery owners and the Jewish property that was expropriated or Aryanised during the Occupation. The scenography oscillates between modernised reconstructions of period settings and more traditional museography based on a variety of archives.
