LAAC museum

To celebrate its 40th anniversary, the LAAC has commissioned us to design a three-volume jubilee anthology.

Together with the Hudson Catty studio, we are combining our expertise to create a sensitive and festive book object. Anchored in the history of the region and remarkable for its architecture surrounded by water, the LAAC is celebrating its 40th anniversary by presenting key pieces from its collection alongside works by contemporary artists, along with a story woven around its archives. This anthology reflects the richness of the museum's heritage (an important aspect of its cultural and scientific development) and is divided into three books: the first is an exhibition catalogue, the second a retrospective of the museum's permanent collection, and the third an illustrated primer. Each book plays with notions of reflection, scale and textural contrast, using different papers, techniques, inks and manipulations.
